Local loyalty stamp cards in one app

Oktapus brings together the digital loyalty stamp cards of local cafés, bakeries and neighbourhood shops in Belgium that use Oktapus in one customer app. You can find your cards, your progress and each shop’s reward there. The Around tab helps you find participating shops nearby.

Where can I find the stamp cards for my cafés and bakeries?

Your morning café, the bakery where you buy your bread and a neighbourhood shop can each have their own card in Oktapus. You install the same app for these shops and find your cards in the Cards tab. Each card keeps the shop’s name, colour, reward and stamp count. You can see how far you have got before reaching the counter.

Stamps fill the card of the shop where you receive them. When a reward is waiting, the card tells you. The app can also let you know if you allow notifications. You can decline them and keep receiving stamps. Looking at your cards remains a way to follow your progress during your usual shopping trips.

How do I add a shop’s card using its poster?

The QR code on the poster in the window or near the till lets you join the shop. Scanning it with your phone takes you to a page offering to open Oktapus, install it or continue on the website. In the app, the shop appears alongside the other shops you have joined. You can check the reward and the required number of visits before receiving your first stamp.

Your card opens with the first stamp received at the counter. For that step, open the Stamp tab and show your code to the shopkeeper, who scans it with Oktapus Pro. Scanning the poster joins the shop and does not give a stamp. On your next visit, you simply find your code in the same app.

How do I find participating shops nearby?

The Around tab shows shops near you when you allow access to your location. It helps you discover where to use Oktapus while walking or heading out for groceries. A shop’s page shows its reward and the required number of stamps. You can look at what a café or bakery offers before visiting.

Searching by name also works without your location. You can look for a particular shop, for example after spotting its poster. Results depend on the participating shops. If there are none nearby, the app says so. The list and search need a connection to load shops.

Where do I get the app, and can I use my cards without installing it?

In the app, the code you show the shopkeeper appears even without a network connection, once loaded on this phone. You can show your loyalty code when reception is poor at the counter. This applies to the code. Searching for shops and loading information need a connection.

If you prefer your browser, the customer space at oktapus.app/client also brings your cards together. Sign in with your email address and the code sent by email, then show your code to the shopkeeper. The website requires an account from the first stamp and a connection at every visit. Notifications remain in the app. With an account, you can recover your cards after changing phones by signing in with the same address.

When should I choose something else?

Oktapus brings together cards from shops that use Oktapus. It cannot add cards from shops outside that network or put your cards in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. If you want to store cards from any source or keep them in your phone’s wallet, a solution designed for that purpose is a better fit.

A paper card remains suitable if you do not use a smartphone or prefer a physical loyalty card. For someone who regularly returns to participating shops, the shared app provides one place to find their cards.

Practical questions

Does scanning the poster give me a stamp?
No. The poster joins you to the shop. Your card opens with the first stamp received at the counter, when the shopkeeper scans your code from the Stamp tab.
When do I receive the reward for a full card?
The full card stays ready. At the next stamp, the shopkeeper hands over the reward and a new card starts with that stamp already on it.

Your favourite shop is not on Oktapus yet? You can mention it on your next visit.
